Biography
I am currently working as a research associate in School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales, under the supervision of A/Prof. Wei Wang. I received Bachelor degree in Software Engineering from Northeastern University of China in 2007. Then, I joined Baidu inc as a Research & Development Engineer at core search engine development team. I got my Ph.D degree in March 2013 under the supervision of A/Prof. Wei Wang, from the School of Computer Science and Engineering, the University of New South Wales, Australia.
Research
My general area of interest is Information Retrieval, Database System. More specifically, I am intrigued by the problems that are related to similarity search. e.g., set similarity join/search, edit similarity search/join, entity extraction and plagrithm detection.Here are some of my research projects:
Efficient Exact Similarity Join. Given a similarity function and two sets of objects, a similarity join returns all pairs of objects (from each set respectively) such that their similarity value satisifies a given criterion.
