BIOGRAPHY
I am currently a PhD student in the School of of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of New South Wales. I am a member of Database Systems Group, working with Dr. Wei Wang. I received B.S. degree in Software Engineering from Northeastern University of China in 2007. Then, I joined Baidu inc as a R&D Engineer at search engine department before I came to UNSW to start my Ph.D. degree in 2009.

RESEARCH
My general area of interest is Information Retrieval, Database System. More specifically, I am intrigued by the problems that are related to similarity search. e.g., set similarity join/search, edit similarity search/join, entity extraction and plagrithm detection. Here are some of my research projects:
Efficient Exact Similarity Join.
Given a similarity function and two sets of objects, a similarity join returns all pairs of objects (from each set respectively) such that their similarity value satisifies a given criterion.
