NMR'08 Special session on Preferences

Preferences constitute a natural and effective way of resolving conflicts and choosing best solutions from a large set of candidates. The problem of preference handling and its applications received extensive interest in artificial intelligence, including non-monotonic reasoning, logic programming, constraint programming, planning, and decision making.

The session on preferences is a one-day event and the technical program forms a part of the Twelfth International Workshop on Non-Monotonic Reasoning (NMR 2008), to be held in Sydney, Australia, collocated with the KR 2008, CP 2008, and ICAPS 2008 conferences.

Authors are invited to submit papers on preference handling and its applications in non-monotonic reasoning. The list of topics of interest includes but is not limited to:
