Appalachian School of Law Shootings http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~lambert/guns/appalachian News Stories in the week after the Appalachian School of Law Shootings en Broadcast News (BN) http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~lambert/guns/appalachian/2002/01/17#176 <p><span class="normal">GRUNDY, Virginia&#8212;</span><span class="tackle">A struggling Nigerian student at a Virginia law school went on a campus shooting rampage yesterday, killing the dean, a professor and a student before being tackled by students.</span><span class="normal"></span></p> <p><span class="normal">Police say the gunman asked a professor to pray for him before he started shooting.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">The attack, with a semi-automatic handgun, also wounded three students at the Appalachian School of Law.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">Two were in surgery last night and the third is listed in fair condition.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">The 42-year-old suspect, (Peter Odighizuwa), went to the school to meet with the dean about his academic suspension.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">It&#8217;s reported he had a history of mental instability that school officials knew about.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">He&#8217;s being held on three counts of capital murder and three weapons counts.</span></p> <p><span class="normal"></span></p>
