THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">JUDY WOODRUFF, CNN ANCHOR: We now have the first pictures coming in from southwest Virginia, where a gunman has killed three people and wounded three others during a shooting spree at the Appalachian School of Law.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">The dean of the school was among those killed. The dean, named L. Anthony Sutton, was a former acting assistant U.S. attorney general, and we are told he was also chief counsel for Al Gore&#8217;s 2000 presidential campaign.</span></p> <p><span class="normal"></span><span class="tackle">The gunman who was identified as a fellow student now is in state police custody after he was tackled by other students.</span><span class="normal"> Joining us now on the telephone is a spokesman for the Wellmont Health Systems, which runs the two hospitals where&#8217;s the three who were wounded are being treated.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">Tim Baylor is joining us. Tim, are you there on the phone?</span></p> <p><span class="normal">TIM BAYLOR, WELLMONT HEALTH SYSTEMS: Yes, Judy.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">WOODRUFF: Tell us about the condition of the three?</span></p> <p><span class="normal">BAYLOR: There were three patients that were transferred from Grundy to on two hospitals in the Wellmont system. Two patients were transferred to Wellmont (UNINTELLIGIBLE) Valley Medical Center in Kingsport. One patient is currently in surgery and the second is listed in fair condition. The third patient was transferred to Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tennessee. And that patient is also currently in surgery.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">WOODRUFF: So, Can you tell us anything about the injury or the injuries to those who are in surgery? You said the second person is in fair condition?</span></p> <p><span class="normal">BAYLOR: Correct. That&#8217;s right. We do not know condition the yet of those in surgery. We are still waiting to have more information on our end as well.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">WOODRUFF: And do you know anything about how many times they were shot or where they were shot?</span></p> <p><span class="normal">BAYLOR: No, I don&#8217;t.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">WOODRUFF: Anything to identify them?</span></p> <p><span class="normal">BAYLOR: No. I can tell you that all three were female, but I cannot&#8212;don&#8217;t have names to give you at this time.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">WOODRUFF: You don&#8217;t know if they were students or faculty or something else?</span></p> <p><span class="normal">BAYLOR: I believe all three were students.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">WOODRUFF: All three were students. All right. Tim Baylor is a spokesman for the Wellmont Health Systems, which as you heard him say, runs two hospitals, one in Kingsport, Tennessee, the other one in Bristol, Tennessee. And at these hospitals the three who were wounded in this shooting incident are being treated.</span></p> <p><span class="normal">You heard him say one person in fair condition, the other two in surgery. We don&#8217;t know much more than that. He did say all three are women. Beyond that we know that three people were killed in the shooting spree at the Appalachian School of Law.
