Lott and Mustard published study where they claimed that laws
allowing concealed carry of firearms caused significant
reductions in violent crime. My
comments. Also, you might wish to look at David
Friedman's page of links to other commentry and my blog that tracks the latest developments in the controversies that surround Lott.
Kellermann et al did a study where they found that gun ownership
was associated with a 2.7 times greater risk of being a victim of a
homicide in the home. (NEJM 1993;329:1084-91) This generated a
lot of discussion.
Kates et al wrote a paper where they accused others of publishing
lies. There seems to be a few problems with their case.
