My name is Stephen Whale, I originally come from Australia. I offer piano lessons to students of all ages and levels. I have many years of experience teaching piano and degrees in piano performance from Sydney Conservatorium, Yale University (masters), and the City University of New York (doctorate).
My approach aims at fostering the player's musical understanding, sound control, deep listening, and enjoyment of music-making. Lessons may take place in my home studio in Vejlby-Risskov, or through Aarhus Musikaftenskole in Aarhus C. (see https://musik.aftenskole.dk/kurser?cat=klaver)
I teach classical and jazz/folk/popular styles. I teach reading from notes and/or from chord symbols. I can also teach music theory.
