Vote for Nat Co-President/Treasurer 2012!
I believe your vote is important in this election so here's a little bit about me so that you don't miss out on what I have to offer you and the CSE society...
A bit about me:
- I am currently a 3rd year student studying Computer Science/Electrical Engineering
- I enjoy all kinds of sports such as swimming, touch footy, skiing and tennis
- I love being involved in uni social life & definitely think it's important for all CSE students to stay active through CSESoc all year round
Some things that I am prepared to offer:
- As Treasurer I would take care of what CSESoc spends it's revenue on & take note of where money is spent (and will also make sure to get the most out of it)
- Rather than tell you more things I can offer the society, if elected as Co-president I will assure that the society has more to offer for you.
- I would definitely do my best in fulfilling the role as either Co-president or Treasurer, so vote for Nat!
- There are some things that I would like to change in the running of the the society but I feel that I can make an impact if I take up the position of Co-president. There's a lot of enthusiasm within our computing community at a student level and a lot of people who have a thirst for knowledge - hopefully if elected, I can meet the changing demands of current students by providing more exposure to computing industries, current trends, more tech workshops and networking events, etc
- In the past year I have been attending a few female networking events (many at UTS) and have realised that although UNSW is producing good graduates, we are lacking in providing support for women in this field who can some times be in a prejudice field - something that I have been very keen on changing
- On a further note, I will not only try to do this but be willing to help the society in any way with any duties outside these roles because I strongly believe working as a team on the committee
Relevant skills & recent experiences:
- Held the position of Secretary this year and I having been on the executive committee, I have gained a handful of experiences in the running of the society and wish to improve it and run it a bit differently
- I have been involved in the ongoing Mentor program for the last couple of years, getting first years involved in university life & have tried to further extend this through CSESoc
- As Social Head last year, I have dedicated lots of time & committment into hosting many CSESoc events, which I hope you've enjoyed. As Co-president or Treasurer, I will not disappoint you with my ongoing committment to the society
- I also believe that I have the necessary organisational skills - having delievered many social events such as CSESoc First Year Camp, Poker nights, Trivia, Movie nights, Xbox night, Weekly BBQ's, etc!
- For those who are unfamiliar, organising the Great Engineering Challenge which was held in the Roundhouse for over 100 high school students required communicating with other coordinators for the event and those at Arc. I was also responsible for acquiring quotes for venues & catering needs of at least 200 people (high school students, teachers & volunteers alike) which required much preparation and time management beforehand
I hope that I have convinced you enough or made your decision easier since there are a lot of good candidates out there but rest assured, I will put as much effort as I can as Co-president or Treasurer just for you!
Yours truly,
Nat
