NAME Revisited

An earlier version of this program was called ash. As this name seemed to be popular with other writers of shells, it was decided to chose a different name. As the old English ligature that looks like an `a' and an `e' run together is called an `ash', it seemed appropriate to use the name ae. Thus the name can equally well be pronounced "aye eee" or "ash" or even "a-shell" (though NOT "ay-shell");
