:: Sitar - First Year Course Planner

Most programs at UNSW have a choice of individual courses to study. This page shows you what courses comprise your first year program, and helps you to choose courses that are relevant to your program and to balance the study load each semester. It will help you prepare for enrolment at UNSW, but it is not an enrolment system. Enrolment is managed through the myUNSW portal.

If you are not sure how the university year is structured, or how study load is calculated, read more.

How to use this page

Step Task
1
Look at the table below. It is divided into Semester 1 and Semester 2. It lists courses that you must enrol in (core courses) and any electives available in your program. There may be choices for your core courses, depending on your school background.

To find out more about each course, click on its course identifier link.

To find out more about the structure of your program, click on the program code or links in the notes following it.

If you are able to make some choices, click on the radio buttons or  check boxes to indicate your selections.
Most students enrol in four 6-unit courses each semester.

2
If possible, print this page so you have a record of what choices you have made and what options you were shown.
3
Press the Continue button at the bottom of the page. A new table summarising your selections will be displayed. Again you can print the page, or save it for later reference during enrolment.
4
Although you are entitled to enrol at any time after you accept your offer of a place at UNSW, you may wish to attend an advisory session run by your faculty. Bring your printouts (if you have them) to the advisory session in case you would like to discuss options with an adviser.

If you are happy that your choices are appropriate and you don't need any further help, you may complete your enrolment on-line.
