Anthony,
Thirlmere Lakes are usually a great spot to birdwatch. However, because of the Christmas fires, the park is closed (and probably all burnt). The NPWS web site says it may re-open in September. Someone may have been there and prove me wrong, but that is the latest info I have.
Cheers,
Peter

Hello All,
Has anyone been birding around Thirlmere Lakes National Park (NSW).
I would like to know if it is worth a visit and what species might be found there.

Anthony Katon
