As snakes can't hear, having these birds make a noise, would not of itself 
remove snakes, though it may help people and predators, such as the honey 
badger, find them. No doubt snakes see the birds fussing about. Or do these 
birds eat snakes (if so, surely only very little snakes). As for Anthea's 
comment, having spent my primary school days (1960s) in Eltham, I can agree 
that there were many snakes there.
