I think there are two issues - BirdingAus has always been a place to ask
about visits to specific locations and I see that as a reasonable use.
BirdLife Werribee is also happy to help and I guess most other BirdLife
branches will help visitors - and there is always birdingpal.org.
Whilst on the face of it many of us are interested in tours, I see this as
the thin end of the wedge. Once we allow tours to be advertised next will
be accommodation, photos, DVDs, t-shirts.... Where do we draw the line? I
realise this is a question for Russell but I think commercial ventures
should not be advertised - many posters of course put their company details
in their signature and that seems plenty. Anyway - how hard is it to google
for a bird tour!
