CBA Hackathon

CBA Hackathon

9/3/14 10:51 AM

UNSW Faculty of Engineering students & young Alumni are invited to participate in the first UNSW CBA Hackathon this September!

Are you a technical genius, a creative talent or a great business mind? All of the above?

As part of its ongoing commitment to education, CommBank is sponsoring a Hackathon, run by New South Innovations and AWI Ventures, at UNSW. During the Hackathon, UNSW students will be invited to develop innovative solutions based on CommBank’s latest small business platforms to enhance the retail experience.

Your innovative ideas, teamwork and ability to work under pressure could be the perfect recipe for the next amazing app for young people who like to shop without carrying cash or for small business owners who wish they could accept payments from their customers in more flexible ways. Your app could even become an innovation that completely changes the way Australians do their shopping!

This is your chance - regardless of what faculty or degree you study - to become part of a new team, to come up with exciting ideas, to prove those ideas are valuable and then attempt to build a new amazing app - all within 2½ days!!

Did somebody say PRIZES???

Be in the running to share $7,500 in cash prizes including $5000 for the winning team, mentoring opportunities with executives from Australia’s largest and most innovative bank and specialised guidance from AWI Ventures, Australia’s only Fintech startup accelerator.

The UNSW CBA Hackathon is open to all UNSW students and recent graduates. Hosted by NewSouth Innovations, it will take place during the mid-semester break at the UNSW Business School’s recently commissioned, state of the art, flipped classrooms, "The Place".
