Connecting with SSH

If you’re happy working in the command-line environment, or your Internet connection isn’t quite up to running VLAB, an excellent option is connecting using Secure Shell (SSH).

This is faster over slower network connections, and usually requires less effort to set up. You can also run graphical applications over it, though this is usually a bit more effort to set up, and most users prefer to stick to command-line tools.

A précis: you’ll use a SSH client to connect to one of CSE’s login servers. You’ll get a shell, like a terminal on a lab workstation or VLAB.
