After their draw dropping debut Ep earlier in the year Bondi trio Cog had quickly received some very good feedback amongst fans in the Sydney and regional areas of Australia. Around six months later they release their second Ep "Just Visiting Part 2" and although some people might say that this piece is a continuation of the first Ep I think it is more a progression more than anything.

With calls in the media such as Australia's own "Tool" quotes like that really can't be left along amongst fans so the groups fanbase has quickly spread across Australia within a matter of months. And why shouldn't it have because releasing material such as this is going to do nothing but increase listeners to your music.

This offering has a lot of diversity and it is one of Cog's strengths. The opening track 'Paris Texas' is a track that builds up into a sonical blast. Having the dark presence to it prior to the build up, the composing of this track by the band is very creative. The final track on the Ep 'Just Visiting' has that similar edge to it with the diversity of slow and hard sounds being the pinpoint of its release. With this though come your more "Cog" tracks with 'Stretch' and 'Pseudo' being just that. With the stellar guitar sound and hard rocking ballads these two tracks certainly have an epic feel to them, which then brings in the "Tool" argument. If you haven't heard Cog then these two tracks would be the ones to check out.

Cog has continued to impress with their second Ep and if they continue with this, the recognition will soon carry over to the overseas scale. The sound that this 3 piece turn out is amazing and something that were not use to hearing from a 3 piece in any shape or form. This is the band that really could be the cherry on top for Australian music for the years to come. The album should be out next year and we should be expecting nothing short of this.
