An Australian based three-piece who formed in 1998, Cog are as innovative as they make 'em, developing hints of melodic ideas into full bodied epics as they build up their indulgent but utterly captivating material. The band exhibit dark and progressive tendencies throughout their work, bearing minor resemblences to acts such as Tool, Oceansize and The Apex Theory but on the whole carrying forward a sound which is very much their own. Cog have already proven themselves admirably via a string of EP releases in their native land, but it is their expansive full-length debut "The New Normal" which should find the band accumulating a worldwide army of followers. Produced by Sylvia Massy Shivy (Tool, System Of A Down) and set for release through Difrn't Music on April 12th, the album boasts a 72 minute running time and has a breathtaking amount of depth to it which will regale those who hold intelligent music in high regard.
