Following the technical emo-metal lead of bands such as Tool and Deftones, the debut from Sydney 3-piece Cog throws 5 tracks of biting sounds straight in your face. Opening track " Mosciach " gets tribal early on in the piece before going full-tilt ( complete with well-placed didge sounds ). "Bondi" with its ground-rattling bass groove kicks into a memorable chorus, while tracks such as "Moo" and "Holes" impress with their down-right chunkiness. A very slick sounding package, hopefully the band will come away unscathed from the obvious musical comparisons and progress to carve their own niche within Australia ( and the world's ) hardcore / metal scene.
