    Reports on any interesting/relevant devlopments that have occurred in committees, work-groups, etc. at UNSW.

  4. Program Proposal: B Adv Comp Sci

    Alan Blair is proposing a new 4-year Computer Science degree. The notion of moving forward with this degree was approved at the last EdC meeting. Now a full proposal needs to go the the Faculty Academic Programs Committee and then to Academic Board. The following is the first stage of this process.


  5. CS and MIT Specialisations

    The specialisations in both the UG and PG degrees have always been "light"; they have such mminor variations from the standard program that students can potentially meet the requirements for two or three specialisations. In addition, some specialisation have become non-viable with the dropping of some courses from the curriculum. Are there good reasons for continuing with these specialisations? Pedagogical? Marketing?

    The following highlights some issues with specialisations:


  6. Stream Learning Outcomes

    Engineers Australia accreditation require us to perform "proper" (consistent faculty-wide) curriculum mapping. This includes devloping a set of learning outcomes for all streams (SLOs), which will ultimately be mapped to the Engineers Australia stage 1 competencies. The following are suggestions I have received so far from stream directors of study, along with Con Doolan's guidelines for writing stream learning outcomes.
