    Sowmya is proposing a new structure and new functions for the Education Committee.

    Reports on any interesting/relevant devlopments that have occurred in committees, working-groups, etc. at UNSW.

  5. Teaching Allocation 2023

    Working out teaching allocation requires:

    • who's available
    • course preferences
    • knowledge of ECR, awards, heavy admin work

    Overall workload for T&R = 40% research, 40% teaching, 20% admin.
    Workload for EF = 65% teaching, 15% teaching activities, 20% admin.
    Typical CSE admin tasks fit in the 20% admin basket.
    PhD supervision fits in the 40% research basket.


  6. Course Outline / ECOS / ECLIPS / Astra Synchronisation

    Faculty wants descriptions of courses in various places to be consistent.


  7. In-person Exams vs Offshore Students

    How to ensure that offshore students (who take online exams a la pandemic) are not advantaged over students who are supervised in the labs. Only a problem for 23T1.


  8. Generative AI vs Academic Integrity

    Do generative AI tools (e.g. CoPilot, ChatGPT), pose a substantial threat to academic integrity?


  9. Ongoing Work

    Need volunteers for working groups on

    • improving COMP15xx and COMP25xx
    • curriculum map (documenting course inputs/outputs)
